Frequently asked questions
Do the units take SIM cards for mobile internet?
Most IoT models have Mini-PCIe or M.2 B-key slots for 4G/LTE or 5G modules with external antennas. The module and bands are confirmed for your operator before ordering.
Are they compatible with Azure IoT and AWS Greengrass?
The x86 systems run the standard Windows and Linux builds that Microsoft and Amazon IoT platforms support. ARM units run Linux distributions supported by most edge runtimes.
Can they be installed outdoors?
The units themselves are not weatherproof. Outdoors they go into a rated cabinet; in direct Gulf sun that cabinet needs shading or active cooling to keep the unit inside its operating range.
